Alder & Co. is a spirit held in a place. It's a brick and mortar shop - and it has always been a space to gather and explore. What began on the corner of 12th and Alder in Portland, Oregon in 2010 — could years later be found in a storefront on an unusually quiet street in New York City — and has since settled into a townhouse in Hudson, New York. Founded by Carla Helmholz and Rebecca Westby, two shoppers at heart, driven by discovery, travel, and a love of beautiful things. The shop brings together a refined mix of clothing, jewelry, ceramics, apothecary, and everyday goods from independent designers and traditional makers from around the world. Most pieces are small-batch and handcrafted, and everything is sourced with intention — chosen for its quiet, enduring sense of style and beauty.
