Caseus Diem

Nearly a decade ago, Han, the owner, began their journey into the world of cheese at a quaint shop in Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA. At the time, they had no experience in the food industry, but the work sparked a lifelong passion. As Han moved from the Central Coast to Southern California and then to Portland, that passion remained with them. By 2020, while working in a few grocery stores, Han realized how much they missed the personal connections they had in that first cheese shop. There’s something truly magical about seeing someone’s face light up when they find their new favorite cheese. This realization led Han to recognize a need for more of those personal, meaningful experiences in Portland. And so, Caseus Diem was born—Latin for 'Cheese the Day.' Han set out to create a warm, welcoming space where people could come together over cheese.
