Preserving Portland’s Culture of Coffee & Kindness Since 1994. When Susan and Jason Thomas first came to Portland in 2011, they looked for a neighborhood coffee shop with good Wi-Fi, where they could hole up for a while. They stumbled into Coffee Time and instantly fell in love. It became their go-to hangout spot, where they made friends in their new hometown. They loved the atmosphere, the artwork, and of course, the great food and coffee. When the opportunity to buy Coffee Time arose, they jumped at the chance to become stewards of this local treasure. Coffee Time first opened during Portland’s burgeoning coffee culture, a high point of the city’s indie scene. It was a time when beloved hotspots were just a few blocks away, and the shop was filled with quirky characters enjoying the cozy environment. Coffee Time has always existed to be a neighborhood hub, where the community comes together over great coffee and conversation.
